Roadworks on Chickerell Road

Roadworks replacing gas mains in Chickrell Road are still underway and have reached their climax. Access to Chickerell Road is now completely restricted from Boot Hill and the road has been closed in both directions while the new gas main is installed beneath the bridge. This makes it more difficult than ever to reach us. However there are some options we can recommend:

1. (from town centre) Park near Asda (Marsh Road area) and walk up the hill.

2. (from Wyke/Portland) Walk/cycle along the Rodwell Trail and access us via Prince of Wales Road path.
Or drive along Wyke Road to Gypsy Lane leading into Prince of Wales Road.
* But you must currently exit the way you came.

3. (from Chickerell) Drive towards town along Chickerell Road as far as possible, park and walk along to us (we are just before the bridge). * But you must currently exit the way you came.

We join Scotia Gas Networks in apologising for the ongoing disruptions to traffic flow, bus services and parking in our normally tranquil and pleasant neighbourhood. They have assured us that the bulk, if not all of the remaining works under the bridge and beyond should be completed in time for Easter. Let's hope so!
